Vision Campaign

Vision Campaign

In one way or another, you have helped the Fourth Church Vision Fund in the renovation and expansion of our building. Maybe you sponsored a marathon runner ….or attended a Mardi Gras…or made a multi-year pledge. We thank you. With Phase One complete, we have raised 60 percent of the funs for Phase two!

We also want to share the good things happening inside this building—Community programs that inspire the Vision Campaign. It has been a year of unprecedented recognition. Last spring, the national church sent leaders to learn from Fourth as an example of urban ministry. We are featured on its website(www.pcusa.org) and will be referenced in an upcoming publication. Likewise, The Boston Globe and NPR covered Baby Basics, while The Boston Herald ran an article on our summer programs.

Beyond the initiatives that got noticed is an even deeper well of important community work:

  • A brand-new “Debts to Assets” program with GBIO (www.gbio.org), Citizens Bank and Roxbury Presbyterian, teaching folks to successfully manage their finances.
  • A new after-school effort in collaboration with the MEM task force and a local health center that brings our quality programming to a nearby housing project.
  • Continued theater success, a wonderful art class and a Saturday ”Mazemakers” club.
  • A growing teen group with a new “youth leaders” focus. In addition, we employed ten low-income teens in our summer programs.
  • A wildly successful Gospel Night in collaboration with the “Facing History Facing Ourselves” symposium, including participants from Rwanda, Northern Ireland, South Africa and Bosnia.

Looking forward, there are numerous groups for study and prayer, an ever-growing membership and vibrant worship services. While we are focused on the long-term in financing our building, we are busy in the short-term, too.

God bless you all….Burns Stanfield, Pastor
